Lohnes+Wright is a GIS and Mapping firm based in Oakland, California. The partnership formed at the start of 2006 when the two principals, Tim Lohnes and Bart Wright, decided to merge their separate companies.

The principals have over 25 years of experience providing GIS and mapping services for a variety of organizations. They met in 1998 while working at Lonely Planet Publications, where they were responsible for creating a spatial database and mapping system for a staff of over 30 cartographers.

Lohnes+Wright’s areas of interest and expertise include map design, map production, data creation, automation of mapping processes, and GIS software customization. Because mapping software - whether it's GIS, CAD, or design programs - is rapidly evolving, the firm strongly believes in constantly evaluating and optimizing mapping procedures. Finding the right tool or combination of tools to effectively and efficiently complete the job is a critical component of the
Lohnes+Wright workflow.
