A mapping system was created for the Contra Costa County Community Development Department to improve the communication with other county departments and utility concerns when processing new addresses. The solution starts when the graphics technician enters the new information in an Access form. The GIS automation reads the Access information, fills in the information on the map, zooms to the area in question, and styles it for a consistent look. The technician can then email the map to the appropriate parties.
